2002 Red Devil rearend design

Postby Cj Mcabee » Thu Jan 03, 2008 6:41 pm

I was asked by Rick Eskola to post some pictures of his 2002 Red Devil that he redid to try to prevent frame cracks. He used a design that incorporated the use of the Skidoo motor mounts. I am sure that Rick could be more helpfull on the details.

Rick,

Remember to use the engine snubber on the drive end as used in the snowmobile other wise you will never be able to keep the engine in place and most likely will suffer early engine rubber mount failure.

2002 Red Devil rearend

Richard

I ran this at Road America (regional) and blewup my motor, next race was Mid Ohio ran ok, but clutching was off also noticed extreme flex in the rubber mounts.
I ordered harder rubber mounts from Hi Performance Engineering and installed a torque arm.
Ran the Blackhawk regional, ran very well on old tires and cold track,(45 degrees Sunday morning. Ran 1:15.5, two seconds faster than the last time I was there.
Only time will tell if this stops the frame from cracking, I"ll keep you guys posted.

Thanks
Rick Eskola
