Finally got around to spending some quality time in the garage with the F600. Found out why I lost drive at the ARRC around lap 8. The aluminum adapter on the transmission output shaft had the splines sheared off. With the splines no longer holding and the rotation of the shaft trying to tighten the nut it then proceeded to shear all the threads in the retaining nut. Luckily it looks like the threads on the shaft are undamaged. Jay has given me a lead on an all steel replacement part that is off the shelf. I'll give Peter D Racing a call today and check it out. The aluminum part lasted three seasons, but others have had theirs let go sooner so I will replace mine with a steel one. A DNF is not worth the 1/2 lb or so weight savings.
